Edward Erfurt, Strong Towns Director of Community Action, will give a virtual presentation titled “A Broader Perspective on Tax Increment Financing (TIF)” on February 13, 2024.
This event is hosted by Let’s Improve Missoula’s Reserve Street (Montana)
LOCATION: Online Zoom Event | DATE: February 13, 2024 | TIME: 9:00 a.m. MT
Missoula has come to rely heavily on tax increment financing (TIF) for many types of projects, drawing funds from property taxes that may otherwise go to schools, roads, law enforcement, and fire department (including mental health services and mobile response unit).
We'll look to Edward Erfurt with Strong Towns on February 13 to provide a broader perspective on TIF from outside of Montana, with examples of TIF pitfalls for Missoulians to consider. Edward will be online to present then answer questions from 9-10 a.m. MDT, then Montanans will have the option to remain on Zoom until 10:30 a.m. for a local conversation.
Please bring your questions and suggestions to this public Zoom meeting from 9-10:30 a.m. Public officials and staff/board members of Missoula Redevelopment Agency are also encouraged to attend.
A one-time preregistration is required to access this event.
