Member Event: Reinventing the Project Development Process
This event is exclusively for Strong Towns members. To become a member of Strong Towns, go to membership.strongtowns.org.
The current project development process is broken. At its best, we engage the public through surveys, sticker charts and public hearings. At its worst, we push Old Economy projects onto a public too disconnected from the process to resist. The top/down, orderly process produces dumb projects. We need to reinvent project development.
Drawing on insights from our recent Neighborhoods First report, as well as inspiration from Tactical Urbanism, Team Better Block and our new Sandbox approach, Chuck Marohn will present some insights and ideas for implementing a different approach. He'll show how we give an iterative, experimental approach the credibility it needs to replace old thinking.
Wednesday, February 12 from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM Central
