Announcing the Strongest Town Contest Finalists
And then there were two.
The semifinal round of the Fourth Annual Strongest Town Contest brought us another close pair of matches. This week, we published podcast interviews with our four semifinalists to help you decide which town was doing the most impressive job of building on its strengths, encouraging bottom-up improvement by strong citizens, and working to secure long-term financial strength and resilience.
Well, the people have spoken, members of the Strong Towns movement have spoken, and here are the results:
Pensacola, Florida (64%) vs. Guthrie, Oklahoma (36%)
Portsmouth, New Hampshire (52%) vs. Safety Harbor, Florida (48%)
So what comes next? On Monday, April 8th at 12 noon Central Time, we will be airing a live webcast with representatives of Pensacola and Portsmouth. Strong Towns President Chuck Marohn and Content Manager Daniel Herriges will interview our finalists, and take a couple audience questions too.
And then we’ll open up the voting form, and you will have until 12 noon (CDT) on Thursday 4/11 to vote for the Strongest Town in North America. Who will you choose? We can’t wait to find out.
