Gregory also led and expanded the Music Art and Cultural Festival, the city’s banner event, for four years, leading to a 240% increase in fundraising and a 1400% increase in attendance. A high point of his time in East Orange was hosting a stop on the Strong America Tour for Chuck.

Outside of his career, Gregory continues to remain dedicated to helping inner-city youth access the same high-quality educational opportunities he was afforded as a child. Leveraging his relationships as an alumni of the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Gregory founded and is currently the executive director of Urban Exposure, a youth athletics program that connects middle school and high school students to competitive elite play of nontraditional sports in order to improve their access to the best colleges and universities in the country.

Gregory is a proud third generation Newark resident serving as board chair for the Greater Newark Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and as commissioner on the Newark Central Planning Board. He is a graduate of The Lawrenceville School and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in public administration from Rutgers University.
