"I have no doubt that this will help my town be a Stronger Town."

Strong Towns is a member-based movement. Last month, we asked our members to answer the question, What have you gained from participating in the Strong Towns community? Below are some of the most meaningful responses.

After you've read them, we invite you to become a member and join this amazing group of people who are working to build Strong Towns.

[Through the Strong Towns community, I’ve gained] the sense that I’m not alone... There are many good, thoughtful people all coming to the same conclusions when the data and information is laid out before us all.
— Hugh G.

"Just last night I testified at a public hearing to a statewide legislative committee on transportation planning. I invited the legislators, as well as the audience members, to visit Strong Towns and study the ideas and the discussion there. I've been able to make many such presentations, and even the invitation to visit is always thought-provoking."

- Ron Green

"Strong Towns gives me the tools and information to hone my thinking on building better places and community."

- John Beasten

"[Through the Strong Towns community, I've gained] the sense that I'm not alone... There are many good, thoughtful people all coming to the same conclusions when the data and information is laid out before us all. One day I may even become brave enough to write about this stuff -- and I'm not even an expert."

- Hugh G.

"It has given me strength and resources to help prove my points of view.  Examples of how things are done elsewhere are extremely important in convincing people of a better way to do things."

- Jill Rohring

"Strong Towns provides a common language of good planning and place.  Strong Towns publications provide the ammunition to fight the status quo."

- Paul B.

"I have gained a lot of knowledge on how our communities are financially and socially broken and what I can do to help fix them, piece-by-piece."

- Brian Ludicke

"I have helped make the discussion in my own town a LOT smarter and more insightful, and I have no doubt that this will help my town be a Stronger Town and keep improving."

- John Gear

"[The Strong Towns community offers] tons of technical knowledge, great ways to frame problems, and it has helped me start relationships with people across the country who are doing things in their cities and towns."

- Stanko Zovko

"Sometimes I read or hear my own observations in a more succinct form, sometimes I learn new things about the form or function of cities, other times it is just affirming to know that I am not crazy and others feel the same away about the cities within which they reside."
