Excitement Builds for Strong Towns' Oregon Tour
That's a quote from a recent article by Salem, OR-based blogger, Brian Hines. We've been pleased and honored to see the word getting out in local news sources about our upcoming four-stop trip to Oregon which includes events in Portland, Independence, Newberg, and Salem.
Hines' article continues:
I'm pleased that Salem Community Vision is supporting this event (I'm a member of the SCV steering committee). It took us about zero seconds to decide to do this. Chuck Marohn is an energetic, creative, thoughtful advocate for the sorts of positive changes that need to happen in Salem.
Another article in the Salem Weekly also highlighted the upcoming events in Oregon and included an interview with Chuck Marohn:
Marohn, a professional engineer and certified planner, says that America’s auto-based development has led us to live beyond our means, provide unsafe environments for our children, deplete jobs from communities and diminish quality of life.
He will discuss these matters, ways towards better growth, strategies for everyday community members to make a lasting difference in Salem, in a free public presentation on October 5.
We'll be covering a myriad of topics during this three-day Oregon event, and presenting in a variety of formats including walking tours, brown bag lunches and large-scale presentations. Find out about these and more of our upcoming events across the country on our Event page.
And if you're not able to make it to a Strong Towns event any time soon, you can still experience it via video. Here's a recent film of Chuck giving a Curbside Chat presentation in Rockford, IL:
