Unique Examples of Tactical Urbanism, Tips for Creating Economy-Boosting Urban Gardens, and More
Join the Strong Towns Community site: the newest community platform where Strong Towns readers and members ask questions, share stories, and connect with others across North America making their communities stronger.
Since we launched the Strong Towns Community site last month, over 150 (and quickly growing!) readers and members of Strong Towns have joined to discuss stories, ask questions, and share insights.
And, golly, it’s fun to watch: members have shared their insights regarding water contamination, offered help to create value per analyses, and posted links to find investment opportunities for small-scale developments.
Every week, readers and members share new, interesting posts that demonstrate the Strong Towns movement and help others create strong cities, towns, and neighborhoods in their unique place, too.
Below, I’ve shared a few of my favorite posts and engagements in the Strong Towns Community site from the past week:
Strong Towns member Daniel Bachhuber shared a unique example of tactical urbanism that he spotted from his travels in Boston. (If you’re looking for low-lift ways to create a music venue, you’ll enjoy this post.)
Strong Towns members share examples of how urban gardens can boost local economies, including helpful insights from Andres Diaz, who’s inspired a local food movement in Peoria, Illinois.
Strong Towns members share examples of zoning code language to expand Home Occupations allowed by right. (No shame if you need to Google what this means—I know I did.)
The Strong Towns Community site demonstrates something we at Strong Towns have always known but have never had a platform to record and celebrate: our readers and members—whether they’re professionals in a city-related field or citizens interested in the financial resiliency of their place—have meaningful insights to share.
And, I’m tellin’ you, you don’t want to miss it.
If you have a story to share, question to ask, or just want to watch Strong Towns member Andrew Kelsey’s value per acre webcast on repeat (I don’t blame you), join the Strong Towns Community site today.
