"I'm Chuck Marohn, and This Is My Confession."

Strong Towns staff are working hard behind the scenes to get ready for the launch of Confessions of a Recovering Engineer: Transportation for a Strong Town, the new book from Strong Towns president Chuck Marohn. This book will help towns and cities fix their transportation, while also building enduring wealth and resilience.

We also believe that its release date (September 8) comes at a critical moment, as the infrastructure bill—which includes more than $500 billion for transportation—inches closer to full passage in Washington. There’s no time like the present to change the conversation about how to fix our broken transportation systems.

To help spread the word, and to introduce some of the key concepts that are unpacked in the book, Chuck recorded 30 brief videos: his “confessions” as an engineer who used to perpetuate those systems. The daily videos are available now for people who preorder the Confessions book, but we want to share a few of them with you here. To get the whole series, make sure to preorder the book.

And, if you like the videos, please share them with friends, family, and colleagues. The conventional approach to transportation costs too much—in money, time, and safety—to be so ineffective. We can and must do better. Thank you for being a part of the movement for change.
