2023 Strongest Town Contest: Announcing the Finalists!
The third round of voting is over and we have two finalists seeking to be named the 2023 Strongest Town. Congratulations to Brattleboro, Vermont, and Saranac Lake, New York, for advancing to Strong Towns’ championship round!
The Final Four voting produced one solid victory and one contest that went down to the wire:
Brattleboro (76%) vs. Jackson, Tennessee (24%)
Saranac Lake (56%) vs. Port Washington, Wisconsin (44%)
Now it’s your turn to help determine the Strongest Town. Voting for the final round begins April 10 and runs through April 13 at 12 p.m. CT. For the culmination of the contest, we'll invite the top two towns onto a live webcast at 2:30 p.m. CT on Monday, April 10, with Strong Towns staff to discuss the strength of their towns. Please tune in and see which community earns your vote.
You can also view submissions for previous rounds of the contest from Brattleboro and Saranac Lake, including our questionnaire and their photo tours, and see how they progressed in the brackets below.
Even though they didn’t advance, we hope you’ll take another look at Jackson, Tennessee, and Port Washington, Wisconsin. Their contest entries about local efforts to improve their communities show that they’re true strong towns.
We’ll crown the 2023 Strongest Town on April 14. This year’s winning delegation will also be flown to the Strong Towns National Gathering in Charlotte, North Carolina, where it will receive the award in person on May 31.
